Hi, I'm Kevin. I'm an associate consultant in the Chicago office and I went to the University of Michigan. I think I was interesting consulting because of the variability of the work. It's really hard when you're 22 years old to kind of figure out exactly what you want to do for the rest of your life, so I think that Bain gives you the opportunity to try a lot of different industries and learn from a lot of really smart people in order to understand what you want to do moving on.
The case I'm currently on is in the data center infrastructure realm, which is super unique, super specific and very different than what I expected to be working on when I started at Bain. I think the cool thing about that, though, is that the point of working in something variable like consulting is that you try industries that you never even thought you'd be working through before. There's a really steep learning curve there, so if you talked to me three months ago, I probably wouldn't be able to give you a good answer of what are the things that really matter in data center infrastructure, but now I've learned so much and I feel like I'm kind of an expert in that type of thing. I think that's a really cool thing to say is that within a really short time period I learned so much that I feel like I could talk to anybody in this industry and give really great advice on how they should run their business. I think something that's really different at Bain is how they support you throughout your entire career,
You can have candid conversations with anyone at the firm about next steps about career trajectory, things that you want to do. I think that's really different from a lot of other firms, where it's kind of a weird concept to talk about, \
